Senior Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh Honoured with ‘Award of Honour’ by World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation on Independence Day

Rewari — On the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations, Senior Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh was conferred with the prestigious ‘Award of Honour’ by the World Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation for his remarkable contribution to sports, especially in the field of bodybuilding and physique sports, and for his continuous efforts towards the upliftment of athletes. The award was presented by Ambassador-at-Large of the Federation, Secretary General of the Asian Bodybuilding Federation, International Federation official, and Director of the Amateur Sports Federation, Amit Swami, in a grand ceremony.

 

As the chief guest of the event, Rao Narbir Singh was felicitated by Amit Swami with a traditional shawl and a memento. Speaking on the occasion, Amit Swami said that Rao Narbir Singh’s dedication to promoting sports, encouraging athletes, and strengthening sports infrastructure is truly commendable. He added that Rao Narbir Singh is not only an inspiring leader in politics but also a role model for the youth in sports and social service.

 

The ceremony also featured a Guard of Honour programme, attended by IAS Abhishek Meena, IPS Anshu Singh, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar, former Additional DGP Dr. Banwari Lal, PHD College Principal Dr. Satish Khola, BJP District President Mrs. Vandana Popli, senior officials from various departments, former public representatives, and several eminent personalities from the region.

 

Rao Narbir Singh is the son of veteran leader Rao Mohar Singh, who served as SSP in Punjab State under the British Parliament and later as a Cabinet Minister in the Haryana Government. With a long and distinguished career in politics, Rao Narbir Singh has served multiple terms as a Cabinet Minister in the Haryana Government, continuing his family’s legacy of public service.

 

In his address, Rao Narbir Singh expressed gratitude to all organisers, especially Amit Swami, stating that the honour is a matter of great pride and inspiration for him. He dedicated the award to athletes and the youth, reaffirming his commitment to work tirelessly for the development of sports and the welfare of sportspersons in the future.
