Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena Describes World Gold Medalist Sanjay Pehlwan as an Inspiration for Youth

Amit Swami, Director General of the Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation, National President of Young Men’s Association of India, and President of Gym Association Rewari, visited the Deputy Commissioner’s office along with Sanjay Pehlwan, a resident of Jaliyawas village and son of Subhash Chand. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner listened to the entire story of Sanjay Pehlwan and assessed how dedicated, courageous, and determined he is.

Recently, in the World Pro Powerlifting Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand by the United World Sports and Fitness Federation, Sanjay created a record by lifting 285.5 kg in the Para Category 40+ and 100 kg weight class. Along with his weight category, he was also awarded the Strongman Title in the overall category.

Amit Swami said that Sanjay Pehlwan is overwhelmed by the blessings received from the Deputy Commissioner and dreams of winning gold for the country in future competitions as well. It is also noteworthy that on Sunday, 07-12-2025 at 12 PM, a civic felicitation ceremony has been scheduled at the village school, in which gym association owners, senior administrative officials, and political dignitaries will participate and congratulate Sanjay for this remarkable achievement.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured that special facilities will be provided to Sanjay. He also said that wherever he travels in the future, he should inform the administration so that proper arrangements for his stay and food can be made.
