Celebrate Eco-Friendly Diwali with the Light of Lamps, Not Firecrackers: Amit Swami

Rewari. Amit Swami, National President of the Young Men’s Association of India, appealed to all members and the general public to celebrate this year’s Diwali with lamps and light instead of firecrackers, promoting environmental protection and health awareness.

Addressing a meeting held at the association’s Auto Market office, Swami said that firecrackers cause severe air, sound, and water pollution. He explained that harmful chemicals such as zinc, phosphorus, and sulfur released from firecrackers pollute the environment and cause respiratory diseases, asthma, kidney, skin, eye, and heart problems.

He emphasized that it is our moral responsibility to celebrate this holy festival by spreading light through lamps rather than smoke through crackers. Swami also pointed out that firecrackers not only pollute the air but also lead to accidental fires and injuries every year.

“By celebrating a cracker-free Diwali, we can protect our environment and gift a cleaner future to the next generations,” he added.

During the meeting, the association’s office bearers and members supported Amit Swami’s eco-friendly appeal and pledged to celebrate a safe, pollution-free Diwali.
