Sanjay Brings Glory to State and Nation: Amit Swami

Rewari. Sanjay Pehalwan, son of Subhash Chand and a resident of village Jaliyawas, recently brought laurels to India by winning a gold medal at the Global Powerlifting Federation’s International Powerlifting Championship held in Dubai. Competing in the handicap category of the 100 kg weight class, Sanjay lifted 260 kg in the deadlift to secure the top position.

 

On this achievement, Amit Swami, National President of Youngmen’s Association of India and Director General of the Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Federation, felicitated Sanjay. He said that athletes from rural backgrounds are raising the prestige of both the state and the nation with their determination and hard work. He added that Sanjay has proven that dedication and perseverance can help achieve any milestone.

 

Amit Swami further said that Sanjay’s success is an inspiration for the youth, and he is confident that Sanjay will continue to make the country proud in the future as well. He also informed that Sanjay has been selected to represent India in the upcoming World Powerlifting Championship scheduled to be held next month in Valencia, Spain.

 

On this occasion, international players including Uday Durj, Manish Khatana, Deepak, Sheetal Singh, and Deepak Singh were also present.
