He was traveling by car when another vehicle collided with his. Remarkably, he began running marathons at the age of 89 and continued participating in international events well into his 100s. Known globally as the \u201cTurbanned Tornado,\u201d Fauja Singh ran in 18 marathons, including the 2011 Toronto Marathon, 2012 London Marathon, and the Hong Kong Marathon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Born in 1911 in a small village in British India&#8217;s Punjab region, Fauja Singh\u2019s life was an inspiration \u2014 proving that age is just a number.
