“Amit Swami congratulates Jay Shah on being elected unopposed as ICC President”

Amit Swami, Ambassador-at-Large of the World Body Building and Physical Sports Federation and Director General of the Asian Body Building and Physical Sports Federation, has congratulated Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on being elected unopposed as President of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

In a letter, Amit Swami wrote that it is a matter of joy and pride for every Indian and cricket lover that an Indian has been elected unopposed as President of the ICC. He praised Jay Shah’s contribution to the development and promotion of cricket, saying that he has made a significant impact in his role as an office-bearer in the governing body of cricket. Jay Shah began his journey in 2009 as President of the Ahmedabad Cricket Association and Gujarat Cricket Association, and later became Secretary of the BCCI in 2019 and President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 2021.
