Father of the Demand for Complete Swaraj and a Dedicated Social Reformer” – Amit Swami

Rewari. On the death anniversary of the great freedom fighter, educationist, and social reformer Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the Youngmen’s Association of India organized a tribute event at its office located in the Auto Market. National President of the Association, Amit Swami, along with office bearers and members, paid heartfelt homage and remembered Tilak’s invaluable contributions to the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Swami said that Lokmanya Tilak was not only a prominent freedom fighter but also a symbol of Indian culture, heritage, and pride. He emphasized that Tilak’s famous slogan, “Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it,” continues to inspire every Indian even today. Tilak ignited the spark of patriotism, education, and freedom among the youth, alongside great leaders like Lala Lajpat Rai and Bipin Chandra Pal.

Swami further mentioned that Tilak, born on July 23, 1856, in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, was a brilliant mind since childhood and deeply committed to education. In 1908, the British government sentenced him to six years of imprisonment in Mandalay Jail, Burma, where he wrote his renowned book ‘Gita Rahasya’. Throughout his life, he fearlessly raised his voice against British oppression and inspired the people of India to strive for self-rule. He passed away on August 1, 1920, but his legacy lives on.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries and members of the Association including Harchand Jangra, Ishwar Pehalwan, Khushi Ram Gaur, Sonu Yadav, Ajit Gurjar, Ravindra Sharma, Paras Chaudhary, Vikas Sharma, Lalit Gupta, Manish Gupta, Praveen Aggarwal, Rajdeep Pehalwan, Sanjay Yadav, Manish Yadav, Rajendra Saini, Gaurav Harit, Ramesh Sethi, Rohtash Yadav, and Shyam Lal Soni.
