Amit Swami Honored for Contributions to Bodybuilding and Physique Sports

Gurugram: Amit Swami, a renowned figure in the world of bodybuilding and physique sports, was felicitated with the ‘Medal of Honor’ by Chetan Pathare Secretary General of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation and the Gold Medal by the Indian Bodybuilders Federation. The Gold Medal was presented to Amit Swami by Prem Chand Degra, Executive Vice President of the Indian Bodybuilders Federation, who is also a Padma Shri, Arjuna, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award winner, and former Mr. Universe.

The award ceremony took place during the first-ever Physique Sports Men’s and Women’s Competition held at the HUDA Gymkhana in Sector 29A, Gurugram. Swami was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the sport.

Upon receiving the honor, Swami expressed his gratitude and commitment to promoting bodybuilding and physique sports. He stated that he will continue to work tirelessly for the development and promotion of the sport in the future.

The competition saw participation from athletes across India, with a total prize money of Rs 25 lakhs. The winners of the various categories were:

1. Open Men’s Fitness Physique: Rajik (Uttar Pradesh)

2. Open Women’s Fitness Physique: Sanju Rani (Uttar Pradesh)

3. 167 cm Men’s Athletic Physique: Vishwajit Vishwas (West Bengal)

4. Open Women’s Sports Physique: Ketki Patil (Karnataka)

5. 167 cm and above Men’s Athletic Physique: Rama Soma Sarkar (Karnataka)

6. 155 cm Women’s Model Physique: Shivani Sanju Rani (Punjab)

7. 155 cm and above Women’s Model Physique: Manjeet Kalita (Assam)

8. 170 cm Men’s Sports Physique: Etsibaini Nungole (Nagaland)

9. Ladies Model Physique: Afraj Khan (Madhya Pradesh)

10. 35 years and above: Swarnim Rani (Ang)

11. 175 cm and above Men’s Sports Physique: Sapna Yadav-Sachin Singh (Haryana)

12. Open Women’s Swimwear: Shubhdeep Das (West Bengal)

13. Open Mixed Pairs: Uttar Pradesh

The father figure of Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Datuk Paul Chua, President of WBPF, ABBF congratulated Mr. Swami for this well-deserving honor.

Amit Swami, who serves as the Ambassador at Large for the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation and the Managing Director of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the federations for recognizing his contributions to the sport.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Chaudhary Anoop Singh, President of the Haryana Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Association.
